Safeguarding

Creative Digital Skills CIC is committed to safeguarding the welfare, dignity and wellbeing of children and young people involved in our activities.

Safeguarding is a core part of how we work. Our aim is to create a safe, respectful and professional environment where children, young people and families feel supported, informed and comfortable at all times.

As our work includes digital skills, social media and content creation, safeguarding also means helping families understand online risks, digital footprint and the long-term impact of being visible online.

Our commitment

The wellbeing of the child or young person is always the priority. Parents, carers or guardians are involved appropriately, and expectations are clearly set before any activity begins.

All activities are age-appropriate. We do not support content or environments that are exploitative, inappropriate or driven by pressure.

Professional standards

Our approach is based on safeguarding awareness, clear boundaries and professional conduct. We aim to ensure all participants feel safe, respected and supported.

This includes how sessions are delivered, how communication is handled and how digital risks are managed.

How safeguarding is applied

  • Clear boundaries are agreed before activities begin
  • Parents or guardians are involved where appropriate
  • No inappropriate or exploitative content is created
  • No pressure is placed on participants
  • Participants can stop at any time
  • Online safety is built into sessions
  • Content creation is handled responsibly
  • Long-term digital impact is considered

Social media & online safety

We help children, young people and families understand social media, including privacy, digital footprint, reputation and online behaviour.

Content creation is approached in a safe and age-appropriate way, not driven by trends or pressure.

Transparency

We work openly and professionally. Any concerns or questions are taken seriously and handled appropriately.

Independent support

  • NSPCC – Support and advice for keeping children safe
  • CEOP – Reporting and support for online concerns
